Woman killed by ex-partner
CEBU, Philippines — 37-year-old woman died after being stabbed by her live-in partner inside the house where she worked as a helper in Barangay Casili, Consolacion, Cebu Sunday night.
The victim was identified as Perlita Cabanes, 37, and the suspect was Bernabe Biasca, both of Carmen, Cebu.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Roel Aquino, investigator of the Consolacion Municipal Police Station, they received a report that a woman was stabbed by his live-in partner.
When they arrived at the area, they saw the dead body of Cabanes and they talked to the owner of the house, a 72-year-old woman.
The owner said that he heard the woman’s voice asking for help, so she looked but found the woman’s live-in partner came in with a knife.
When the 72-year-old woman asked the suspect about what he was doing, the suspect ran away and then she found the victim lying on the floor and bleeding.
“Ang iyang giingon tabang-tabang mao toy iyahang nadunggan, iyahang gitan-aw unya naglisod man og lihok kay ang crutches naman ang witness kay 72-anyos naman siya hinay siya nakaadto didto, pagtan-aw niya nakit-an niya ang lalake nagdala kutsilyo, nigawas sa balay,” said Aquino.
Jealousy is seen as the motive behind the killing after the witness revealed that Cabanes was no longer communicating with the suspect.
It was said that the victim and the suspect have been living together for a long time and they have a 14-year-old son.
“Wala’y naistorya sa akoa ang witness (bahad) pero niingon ang witness dili na daw sila okay sa katong live-in partner katong sa suspect,” said Aquino.
The knife used by the suspect was not recovered and the police also went to his relatives but the suspect was not around.
