Mitchelle L. Palaubsanon - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — Mandauehanons led by Mandaue City Mayor Jonas Cortes has initiated the bayanihan spirit at a housing resettlement in Barangay Paknaan.

Joining the mayor in cleaning and cementing the drainage were Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede, city councilors, some members of Kaabag Mandaue, barangay officials and members of Paknaan Homeowners Association.

The drainage cleaning was done to declog the area and prevent flooding especially it rains heavy every now and then.

Prior to the cleaning and cementing of the drainage, the mayor had breakfast with the group.

“Daghan pa nga mga lugar ang bisitahon ug ubanan sa pamahaw ni Mayor Jonas Cortes kauban ang Kaabag Mandaue aron direkta nga mapaminaw ang mga yangongo sa mga Mandauehanon ug kahatagan og sulbad ang problema,” the Mandaue City Public Information Office said in their Facebook post.

Meanwhile, the Sacred Heart School for Boys Batch 1985 Foundation recently gave flood walker to the 240 traffic enforcers of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue, the traffic arm of the city.

“Daku kaayu og ikatabang sa mga traffic enforcer ang flood walker aron makapadayon gihapon sa ilang trabaho kong ting-uwan o ba kaha adunay baha,” it added. — GMR (FREEMAN)
