P102.6 million shabu seized

CEBU, Philippines —  Suspected shabu worth a total of at least P102.6 million was confiscated from two high value suspects in separate operations in Lapu-Lapu City and Talisay City in Cebu on Saturday, July 9, 2022.

The buy-bust operation in Barangay Pusok, Lapu-Lapu City afternoon on that day led to the arrest of Grace Glory Pabillo Juntilla, 31, a resident of Barangay Mactan.

Authorities confiscated from her 15 kilos of suspected shabu worth P102 million.

A former Overseas Filipino Worker, Juntilla said she got the shabu from a certain “Boy” who communicated with her through phone.

Seized from her possession were one black eco bag, a trolley, and 15 tea bags with Chinese character containing the suspected shabu.

Also confiscated were a paper bag and the buy-bust money.

The buy-bust operation was conducted jointly by the drug enforcement unit of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit-7, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-7, and Naval Force Central.

Hours earlier in Talisay City, authorities arrested Rommel Romero Bacolod, 30, a resident of Barangay Apas, Cebu City.

The operation in Barangay San Insidro early morning that day yielded 100 grams of suspected shabu worth an estimated P680,000.

Authorities said Bacolod’s arrest was a result of validated reports of his illegal drug peddling.

The buy-bust operation was conducted by personnel of the Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU), Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), First Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), and Talisay City Police Station.
