“Amoang nahuna-hunaan ba nga amidst sa pandemic, ang mga tawo wala na gyud silay lingaw ba. Karon nga niubos na ang atong kaso sa COVID-19 might as well give the people something fun to do. Para pud malingaw sila,” Radaza said.

CEBU, Philippines —  Members of Team Deretso headed by mayoralty aspirant and Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Rep. Paz Radaza organized a two-day fun fair over the weekend, benefiting over 2,000 residents of Barangay Buaya of the free services and merchandise items from participating organizations.

“Amoang nahuna-hunaan ba nga amidst sa pandemic, ang mga tawo wala na gyud silay lingaw ba. Karon nga niubos na ang atong kaso sa COVID-19 might as well give the people something fun to do. Para pud malingaw sila,” Radaza said.

The fun fair also gave members of Kababayen-an sa Opon nga Nagkahiusa alang sa Kalamboan (KONKA) the opportunity to showcase their products for livelihood. Radaza founded the organization in 2010 and has now more than 15,000 members.

Products like detergent powder, dish washing, dried fish, ginamos (fermented fish), plants, various delicacies and drinks were sold by KONKA.

Members of Mahuyang Alang sa Kalamboan or MASK also conducted free haircut, eyebrow trimming and facial cleansing. The group, which Radaza also supports, has over 1,200 members in the city.

Youth groups from different barangays in the city also participated in the activity by holding their team building. Candidates under Radaza’s ticket also took advantage of the fair by coming up with their own political gimmicks like free t-shirt printing, giving out free mugs, key chains, toys for kids and several other souvenir items.

There were also games and trivia where prizes were given away for the participants. — FPL (FREEMAN)
