CCPO revises 'Kalag-Kalag' measures
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) and other government agencies have modified some security measures for the upcoming All Saints' Day and All Souls' Day.
Measures including the one-entrance, one-exit policy, and the installation of social distancing signages and other health protocol markings.
Other policies like the "no face mask, no face shield, no entry" remain.
Police Lt. Wilbert Parilla, CPPO deputy city director for operations, said security adjustments were discussed during the stakeholders’ meeting for Kalag-Kalag. Present were cemetery administrators and city government officials.
He said police personnel will man the entry and exit points with eight volunteers from the city’s force multipliers and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion.
He said deployment of cops varies depending on the area of cemeteries.
Cebu City has seven major public cemeteries. These are Calamba Cemetery, Carreta Cemetery, Pardo Cemetery, Labangon Cemetery, Cabantan Cemetery, and Talamban Cemetery.
Based on the recent guidelines released by the Cebu City government, cemetery visitors will only be given one hour the maximum to stay in premises of the cemetery from October 18 to 30.
Only 300 people at a time will be allowed inside the Pardo Cemetery; 250 inside the Labangon Cemetery; 350 inside the Calamba Cemetery;170 inside the Cabantan Cemetery;150 inside the Talamban Cemetery; 450 inside the Carreta Cemetery (under the Cathedral); and 110 inside the Carreta Cemetery (under Santo Rosario). — KQD (FREEMAN)
