Cebu City logs 150 new cases

CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City has recorded 150 new COVID-19 cases yesterday.

The Cebu City Health Department (CCHD) has announced that the cases reported yesterday were swab samples taken from June 29 to July 1 and the results were released on July 1.

The cases with the biggest bulk came from Barangay Guadalupe, which recorded at least 22 cases.

The other new cases were from Barangay Lahug, 17; while Barangays Camputhaw and Tisa each recorded 11 cases.

Barangay Labangon had eight; Barangay Mabolo, seven; Barangay Pardo, six; and Barangays Apas, Busay and Luz added five cases each.

Barangays Banilad, Bulacao, Capitol Site, and Talamban have four cases each; while Barangays Sambag 2 and an unverified address had three cases each.

Also, Barangays Basak San Nicolas, Calamba, Carreta, Hipodromo, Kalunasan, Mambaling, and Tejero recorded two cases each.

One case each was recorded from Barangays Binaliw, Budlaan, Buhisan, Duljo, Guba, Kasambagan, Lorega, Malubog, Quiot, Sambag 1, San Nicolas Proper, San Roque, Sawang Calero, Sto. Niño, and Punta Princesa.

As of yesterday, the total number of positive cases in Cebu City has already reached 5,740, with 2,562 active cases.

Meanwhile, the CCHD also reported 13 new deaths. Bringing to 193 the total deaths in the city.

Two deaths each were reported from Barangays Guadalupe and Zapatera; and one death each from Barangays Apas, Basak San Nicolas, Duljo, Kinasang-an, Labangon, Punta, Pahina Central, Sto. Niño, and Tisa.

Meanwhile, the CCHD also announced 88 recoveries yesterday. This brings to 2,985 the total number of recovered patients in the city.

The lab-negative patients were from Barangay Labangon, 23; Barangay Pasil, 23; Barangay Sambag 2, 13; Barangay Pahina Central, seven; Barangay Zapatera, five; and Barangay Basak San Nicolas, four.

Other recoveries were three from Barangays Ermita and Tejero; two from Barangay Lorega; and one each from Barangays Bulacao, Guadalupe, Mambaling, San Roque, and T. Padilla.  GAN (FREEMAN)
