Cases of COVID-19 in province now 269
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu Governor Gwen Garcia announced that the province's active COVID-19 cases from March 23 to June 15, 2020 reached 269.
Of this number, Garcia said 146 are asymptomatic while 84 are hospitalized. At least 39 are put on home quarantine.
While deaths related to COVID-19 climbed to 37, only four cases of the number were purely caused by the disease. One death is yet to be diagnosed while 32 are incidental or have been caused by underlying health conditions.
The number of recoveries rose to 120.
At the Capitol, two personnel were found positive of COVID-19 following the release of the results last Friday.
Those tested positive were a female Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office worker from Talamban, Cebu City and the another female worker from Mandaue City.
The patient from Cebu City has already been transferred to an isolation center while the patient from Mandaue is under home isolation.
Garcia said the two Capitol employees are now taking immuno-boosting methods like steam inhalation, increasing vitamin C intake and ingesting tumeric tea.
The Capitol is conducting sanitation drive every other day even before the new cases popped up. LPM (FREEMAN)
