Iris Hazel M. Mascardo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines —  A top intelligence officer in Central Visayas who served as Bohol police director for nine months is the new regional chief directorial staff for Eastern Visayas.

Police Colonel Jonathan Cabal was promoted to the post, which will take effect on Monday, May 4.

“The outgoing Provincial Director of Bohol was reassigned by the higher headquarters to become the Chief of Staff of Police Regional Office-8, it is a career advancement, in short a promotion,” Police Brigadier General Albert Ignatius Ferro, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas director, said.

Cabal will be replaced by Police Colonel Joey Clarito as the new chief of the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO). Clarito was assigned before in Camp Crame’s Drug Enforcement Unit.

Clarito was ordered by Ferro to continue the COVID monitoring and to focus on the anti-insurgency campaign in Bohol, among others.

Moreover, Cabal expressed his gratitude to Bohol province and the police force.

He also said he is ready to take on the new “challenge.”

“As a good soldier susunod tayo kung ano man ang order sa atin,” Cabal said.

Ferro assured the public that Cabal's reassignment will not affect the province’s monitoring and security details amid the combat against COVID-19.

“I think Bohol is doing well in fact they were able to contain the virus. No COVID-19 case,” said Ferro.

Ferro also said he was “happy” with the performance of Cabal as BPPO director.  KQD (FREEMAN)
