CEBU, Philippines — With just four days to go before the Sinulog 2020, there are still about five thousand tickets left unsold for the Grand Parade on Sunday.

The Sinulog Foundation Inc. (SFI) started selling the physical tickets last Monday, and as of yesterday, at least one thousand tickets were already sold.

Aya Lim, Marketing officer of SFI, said that there was a delay in the selling of tickets, but now they are now calling all those who have made reservations ahead, and those who ordered online.

Lim said that since people would usually flock to the Cebu City Sports Center to purchase tickets, they have not yet set up in other areas.

“Wala pa mi nag set-up karon, kay nagdagsa ang mga tao.  So, amo gi-focus tanan in one area diri sa Abellana. Hopefully we’re gathering some resources, mag-advise lang mi og location,” said Lim.

Tickets can also be purchased on the Sinulog day, at the front gates of the sports center.

The tickets can be purchased in four different colors: green and pink are priced at P1,000, yellow at P2,000 and blue at P2,500.

To recall, Sinulog Foundation, Inc. Executive Director Elmer “Jojo” Labella admitted that there has been a delay in the production of the tickets due to the confusion earlier brought about by the controversy between the SFI and the Cebu City Sinulog Governing Board.

As early as the first week of January, people were already inquiring about the Sinulog and most of the inquiries are on the tickets.

Labella said there were some delays because of some confusion as to who will do the marketing and how the marketing should be done.

Based on history, Sinulog tickets are always sold out. Last 2019, 7,000 tickets were on sale for the grandstand bleachers.

Gone are the physically printed tickets, the tickets now comes in a wristband form with Quick Response (QR) code.  GAN (FREEMAN)
