Gun-toting driver faces revocation of license
CEBU, Philippines — The Land Transportation Office-7 has recommended the suspension of the driver’s license of a man who was caught on video brandishing his firearm inside his car in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.
LTO-7 Director Victor Caindec said that they recommended to the office of the LTO undersecretary that the license of Mark Bas be suspended for three months following the incident on November 24.
Caindec said Bas was seen waving his firearm while driving his car.
Caindec said they gave Bas ample time to air his side of the complaint but his affidavit came five days late.
Also attached in the affidavit he submitted was a photo of his driver’s license, which did not sit well with the LTO-7 officials since his actual ID was still with the agency after it was confiscated following a previous violation.
Caindec said they will recommend for the revocation of Bas’ license before the undersecretary’s office.
His office will also check the background of Bas’ lawyer after the picture attached in the affidavit came from the license that was not in Bas’ possession at the time. (FREEMAN)
