Water system projects to break ground soon
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu provincial government will soon break ground several water projects after the Provincial Board passed on Monday at least four resolutions authorizing Governor Gwendolyn Garcia to sign a contract with the contractor.
The four resolutions sponsored by PB Member Edsel Galeos cover the construction and improvement of various water systems in the towns of Pinamungajan, Carmen, and Moalboal.
The projects were included in the P1.38 billion supplemental budget this year. The board authorized Garcia to enter into a contract with A.C. Rivero Development Corporation for the construction an Integrated Level III Waterworks Systems at Sitio Avocado, Barangay Punod, Sitio Candiis, Barangay Camugao, and Barangay Sibago all in the town of Pinamungajan costing P10,438,294.32.
A Level II Waterworks System amounting to P4.1 million will also be constructed in Barangay Tangub still in Pinamungajan. A Phase I Level III Waterworks System will be constructed in Carmen costing P19, 899,727.75.
Meanwhile, the Level III Waterworks System in Moalboal will be improved for P7, 376,064.44. Water supply programs has been appropriated P50 million under the approved supplemental budget.
During the out-of-town session of the Provincial Board in Camotes Island last Monday, Garcia appeared to personally deliver her budget message before the legislative body. She stressed during her speech that construction of water systems will be among her administration’s priorities.
During the said session the board approved on second reading the P12 billion proposed budget next year. FPL (FREEMAN)
