CEBU, Philippines — The son of the late Talisay City Councilor Julian “Teban” Daan has formally assumed office yesterday morning.

Lester Daan, who was sworn in yesterday, is the second child of the deceased official and Cebu Provincial Board Member Yolanda Daan.

Congressman Eduardo Gullas, who is the president of Alayon Party, administered the oath taking of the younger Daan.

The party has submitted the name of Lester to Nacionalista Party president, Manny Villar, and they received the confirmation last October 14.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has also approved the assumption of Lester to complete the slate of the Talisay City legislators.

Lester, for his part, said public service is not new to him since he was with his parents doing services to the needy.

He, however, admitted that he still to study what are his father’s committees and the programs that the older Daan had started.

He assured everybody that his office is open for those who are asking for help and assistance.

Mayor Gerald Anthony “Samsam” Gullas Jr. believed that another development will soon emerge, as the City Council complete its slate.

It was earlier reported that Lester’s appointment was done through consultation with their leaders, department heads and other stakeholders. GAN (FREEMAN)
