New requirement asked among quarry operators
CEBU, Philippines — The Province of Cebu will now be adding new documentary requirements for special disposal permittees among quarry operators.
The province will now require documents that would report the volumetric estimate of waste disposals from each permittee and the list of trucks assigned to these areas.
Governor Gwen Garcia said this is to ensure that the permittees are amply paying at the Provincial Treasurer’s office.
“It would not be fair that the province will continue to lose revenues because of the stipulated twelve cubic meters load is not actually being followed,” Garcia said.
According to her, the permittees will now be made to pay for any additional cubic meters developed beyond the twelve cubic meters.
“Like it or not-- and they also admit-- kanang ilang special disposal permit, di man gyud na kay gi dispose. Baligya ra man gihapon,” Garcia explained in an interview. (FREEMAN)
