Province thanks city for role in Pasigarbo

CEBU, Philippines — The Province of Cebu extended its gratitude to the City of Cebu for its pivotal role in ensuring the success of the recent Pasigarbo sa Sugbo.

In a resolution passed by the Provincial Board, the Province of Cebu expressed its thanks to the Cebu local government unit. Cebu City partnered with the province in providing a venue for what has been dubbed as "The Festival of Festivals".

The Cebu City Sports Center was the venue for the Pasigarbo Festival Queen, the actual Pasigarbo sa Sugbo event, and the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo awarding ceremony.

"Despite the time constraints in its preparation, Cebu City has been utmost solicitous and, in from planning until its execution, ensuring its implementation as planned," read the resolution authored by 6th District Board Member Glenn Soco.

The resolution also acknowledged the efforts of Cebu City Mayor Edgardo Labella as the local chief executive.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia herself paid the Labella a visit last August 28 to relay her thanks, bringing with her products from different cities and municipalities of the province.

In an interview, she said she hopes to forge an annual partnership with the City of Cebu, noting that the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo compliments the Sinulog festivities. (FREEMAN)
