Koreans told: Obey Philippine laws
CEBU, Philippines — The head of the Cebu Korean Association (CKA) is urging all Korean tourists visiting the country to obey Philippine laws.
“All Koreans coming to the Philippines should follow Philippine laws,” said CKA President Charlie Cho during the 2019 Korean Community Security Conference on Safety Accidents Precautions yesterday.
Cho also hoped that on the side of the Filipinos, the latter will accord friendship and kindness to their nationals.
During the conference, statistics showed that from 2017 until the present, 55 Korean nationals died in Cebu due to water leisure activities such as diving, snorkeling, watercraft as well as canyoneering and car accidents.
The Department of Labor and Employment-7, through Regional Director Salome O. Siaton, has also assured that as long as their documents are complete, there is no need for the applicants of alien employment permit to go through the agents.
Cho said that this is also their problem as applicants have to go through long processes, including acquiring permits to do business from various government agencies, which sometimes discouraged potential investors. — GAN (FREEMAN)
