Man nabbed for ‘stabbing’ Bulacao tanod chief
CEBU, Philippines — A man was arrested for allegedly trying to stab the chief of the Barangay Public Safety Officer (BPSO) Sunday evening in Sitio Sario, Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City.
Warren Noquiao, 44, said that at around 7 p.m. last Sunday, he and his BPSO colleagues responded to a nuisance alarm at Sitio Ciwac.
After responding to the alarm, Noquiao immediately went home to eat dinner not knowing that the suspect identified as Willy Aguilar, 37, a resident of Sitio Ciwac, followed him.
Aguilar, who had a 9-inch kitchen knife, knocked on the door of Noquiao’s house and when the victim opened it, Aguilar stabbed him three times.
Noquiao was able to defend himself but he sustained wounds in his fingers.
According to the victim’s colleague, BPSO Epifanio Briones, Aguilar is mad at barangay tanods arresting people involved in illegal drugs and illegal gambling as he might be involved in illegal activities.
Noquiao and a colleague who responded to the alarm arrested Aguilar.
The suspect was turned over to Pardo Police Station. — Hannah Joy I. Yana, USC Intern MBG (FREEMAN)
