Magpale-Davide tandem to kick off with caravan
CEBU, Philippines — The campaign sortie of the camp of Vice Governor Agnes Magpale and Governor Hilario Davide for the midterm elections will kick off through a four-day caravan starting in the northern towns of the Cebu Province.
The caravan will start from Danao City on the first day of the local campaign period on March 29. From the northern towns, it will then go to the mid-west towns and will then proceed to the southern towns of the province.
Magpale, who is running for governor under the Barug Alang sa Kauswagan ug Demokrasya- Nationalist Peoples Coalition (BAKUD-NPC), said their camp will start with the towns that don't have heavy traffic.
"We want to avoid areas nga traffic kaayo, mao na nga purposely wala namo giapil ang first ug sixth district, and we explained to our allies on those areas nga ayaw mo kahibulong kay maglagot ang mga tawo nato," Magpale said.
They will also not include on their first days of the caravan the islands of Bantayan and Camotes, as these areas are scheduled in the next days of the campaign period.
After the four-day kick-off, the Magpale-Davide tandem will then plan on how to traverse through the towns and cities in Metro Cebu like Naga, Minglanilla and Talisay city.
During their campaign activity, Magpale divulged there would be a male celebrity joining them, as he represents a partylist group, which their camp will also carry on in their campaign.
Magpale, however, did not mention the name of the celebrity since it is still under negotiation.
The vice governor added they will carry some senatoriables that Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte had endorsed.
She said senatorial aspirant Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa already went to Danao for the support of BAKUD to his candidacy.
Senatoriable Bong Go is also scheduled to meet with the officials of their party for the same purpose.
Aside from the senatorial candidates under the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), Magpale's camp will also carry some senators from Governor Davide's Liberal party. — GAN (FREEMAN)
