CEBU, Philippines — Cebu City South District Rep. Rodrigo Abellanosa is richest among the 10 congressmen from Cebu with a net worth of P69.3 million, based on his Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs) for 2017.

Abellanosa is the founder and president of Asian College of Technology (ACT).

He became richer by P500,000 in 2017 as his net worth the previous year was P68,800,000.

Net worth or actual wealth is computed based on the value of total assets (the real properties plus personal properties) minus total liabilities.

Abellanosa is followed by Cebu Third District Rep. Gwendolyn Garcia who reported a net worth of P50.7 million. This number decreased by P7.6 million as Garcia reported a net worth of P58,287,389.84 the previous year.

For 2017, she declared assets worth P106,885,763.04 and liabilities amounting to P56,188,293.66.

Following Garcia is Fourth District Rep. Benhur Salimbangon who declared a net worth of P44.8 million. He has total assets of P49,840,000 and liabilities amounting to P5,024,873.26.

In 2016, Salimbangon had assets worth P49,090,000 and liabilities amounting to P6,221,244.26.

Cebu City North District Rep. Raul del Mar ranked fourth with a net worth of P26.1 million. Del Mar declared P26,067,991.06 total assets with no liability.

In 2016, his net worth was P25.6 million.

He is followed by Sixth District Rep. Jonas Cortes whose net worth is P25.3 million. He declared assets worth P39,446,138.97 and liabilities amounting to P14,173,975.59.

Cortes was the mayor of Mandaue City before he ran and won a seat in Congress. In 2016, Cortes’ net worth was P23.1 million.

Seventh District’s Peter John Calderon follows with a net worth of P21.7 million, higher by P1.8 million than his 2016 net worth.

He declared assets worth P22,750,042 and liabilities amounting to P1,028,732.25.

Fifth District’s Ramon Durano VI is not far behind with a net worth of P21.4 million. He declared assets worth P22,253,310 and liabilities amounting to P855,000.

In 2016, Durano’s net worth was P19.9 million. He declared total assets of P22,253,310 and liabilities amounting to P2,365,638.83.

Meanwhile, First District Rep. Gerald Anthony Gullas, Jr. declared a net worth of P19.8 million. He also declared assets worth P24,520,000 and liabilities amounting to P4.7 million.

The previous year, Gullas’ net worth was P18.1 million with assets of P21.6 million and liabilities amounting to P3.5 million.

Second District Rep. Wilfredo Caminero declared a net worth of P17.9 million in 2017 with assets worth P22,750,042  and liabilities amounting to P1,028,732.25.

In 2016, his net worth was P16.2 million with assets of P25.5 million and liabilities amounting to P9.2 million.

Lastly, Rep. Aileen Radaza of the lone district of Lapu-Lapu City declared a net worth of P16.5 million, bigger by P2.6 million than her net worth in 2016, which was P13,906,369.58.

For 2017, her assets were worth P16,538,417.31 with  no liability.
