Former Talisay councilor killed

CEBU, Philippines — A former councilor of Talisay City was shot dead outside his house in Mansueto Village, Barangay Bulacao around 6 p.m. last night.

SPO1 Jason Del Campo said the victim, Emil Go, was at a shanty outside his house when two vehicles arrived. The assailant disembarked from one of the vehicles and shot Go in the head as the victim was playing with his grandchildren.

Del Campo said Go’s family heard four gunshots.

Go was councilor in Talisay during the time of former mayor Socrates Fernandez.

In 2013, Go sustained a gunshot wound in his neck when a retired policeman shot him at a cockpit in Bulacao, Talisay City.

Investigation is ongoing to determine the identity of the suspect. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
