Duterte supporters gather for federalism event in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - About a thousand people have participated in the "Unity in Federalism" event held yesterday at the University of Southern Philippines football grounds in Lahug, Cebu City in support for the federal form of government campaign pushed by the Duterte Administration.
Primarily organized by the Duterte clan in Cebu and the Ato Kini Federal Movement, the activity was a mixed of speeches explaining the federal form of government, songs from local artists, and even "sexy" dancing from female dancers.
There were also motorcades around Cebu City from AKFM, a complex of different organizations which campaigned for President Duterte during the 2016 elections.
The group had invited Duterte to the event but there had been no confirmation from Malacañang. The same group had organized a smaller event last December with the brother of President Duterte as their main speaker.
Among the participants of the event were the President's supporters from the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Talisay, as well as Minglanilla and Cordova towns.
There were also Lumad tribal members from Bayugan, Agusan Del Sur, Bukidnon Province as well as supporters from General Santos City in South Cotabato Province. —/FPL (FREEMAN)
