Cloudy skies, rainshowers expected today
CEBU, Philippines - Metro Cebu will continue to experience cloudy skies with rainshowers and thunderstorms today until tomorrow, according to the extended weather forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
A gale warning was issued by PAGASA yesterday preventing at least six vessels and motorbancas weighing less than 250 gross tons from leaving the port.
The vessels were supposed to sail for Tagbilaran City in Bohol, Negros Oriental, Negros Occidental and Palawan, said Jerand Medina of the operations division of the Cebu Coast Guard Station.
Fishing boats and other small seacrafts were also advised not to venture into the sea while larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves.
PAGASA's weather bulletin issued at 5 p.m. yesterday stated that the tail-end of a cold front is affecting the eastern section of Visayas and of Mindanao while Northeast Monsoon is affecting Luzon.
PAGASA said that cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flashfloods and landslides will be experienced over the regions of eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga, Davao and Northern Mindanao.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are also expected over the rest of Visayas, Mindanao and the province of Palawan. (FREEMAN)
