183 CV farmers get land titles
CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Agrarian Reform gave out early Christmas gifts to at least 183 farmers in Cebu by granting them the Certificates of Land Ownership Awards.
The 183 land owners received their CLOA yesterday during the Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Summit led by Agrarian Reform Secretary Rafael "Ka Paeng" Mariano.
In his speech, Mariano commended DAR-7's efforts to attend to the needs of the farmers and land owners.
"Walang magsasaka ang mapapatalsik sa kanilang lupang sinasaka," Mariano vowed, adding that he trusts that the farmers will make their land productive.
One of the CLOA recipients, Diogracias Gabato, expressed gratitude to the agency for helping him gain his own land.
"Kaning among na dawat kay dako kaayo na regalo sa karong tuiga," said Gabato, the president of the Vito Farmers Irrigators Association and also a member of Nagkahiusang Mag-uuma sa Cadulawan, Vito, Camarin (NAMACAVIC) in Minglanilla town, Cebu.
DAR-7 Secretary Mariano told the farmers that the new administration will not neglect their problems regarding land ownership and will promote their rights and welfare. (FREEMAN)
