Rainshowers in Cebu to last ‘til Wednesday
CEBU, Philippines - Metro Cebu and the rest of the province will continue to experience rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon, until Wednesday next week.
Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA)-Visayas weather specialist Meo Aguirre said that the country is now free from any threat of tropical cyclone.
He said that the two weather disturbances earlier threatening the country have already dissipated. The other one is moving away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
"Nagpalayo na ang bagyo nga wa siya nakasulod sa PAR. Pero mag uwan- uwan lang gihapon ta tungod sa Inter-tropical Convergence Zone," said Aguirre.
The website of PAGASA reported that ITCZ is affecting Mindanao while Northeast Monsoon is affecting Northern and Central Luzon.
It added that moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over Luzon and Visayas. The coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to rough.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the northeast to northwest with slight to moderate seas.
Agapito Bibat, district commander of the Philippine Coast Guard-Cebu District, said that despite of the rainy weather yesterday no vessels were prevented from sailing. (FREEMAN)
