Notorious pusher falls in Talisay operation and
CEBU, Philippines – An alleged notorious drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation at his residence in Sitio San Miguel, Barangay Linao, Talisay City Thursday night.
Arrested was Sagrino Caballero alias Boy Uban, 53, who is reportedly in the city police's list of drug personalities.
Caballero, according to the police, operates in Barangay Tangke, a drug-infested area.
The suspect was subjected to weeks of surveillance prior to his arrest.
Personnel of Talisay City Police Station, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-7, arrested the suspect at past 6 p.m. on Thursday after the latter handed over a pack of shabu to a poseur-buyer in exchange for an amount.
Packs of shabu amounting to P50,000 were confiscated from Caballero.
According to the police, residents in Barangay Linao confirmed that Caballero is active in selling illegal drugs.
Suspect is now detained at the police station and will be facing charges in violation of RA 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
In another buy-bust operation, Talisay City Police arrested 44-year-old Japhet Juarez yesterday afternoon in Barangay Lagtang.
Policemen led by Superintendent Ermerson Dante also arrested Ivy Villarin, 33, a resident of Camp 2 in Talisay City who was reportedly in the area during the operation.
The operatives were able to recover from the possession of Juarez 13 pieces of large plastics containing suspected shabu and P200 buy-bust money.
From Villarin, police confiscated 10 small plastic packs of the same substance.
The drugs seized from both suspects weigh 1.38 grams, with a street value of P18,000. —/NSA (FREEMAN)
