Habal-habal driver nabbed with drug paraphernalia
CEBU, Philippines - A motorcycle-for-hire driver was arrested after he yielded drug paraphernalia Thursday along V. Rama Street in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City.
Arrested was 24-year-old Eduardo Pepito, a resident of Barangay Quiot.
Policemen led by PO2 Kim Suelto first called the attention of Pepito when he crossed the solid line of the road around 1 p.m.
Through hand signal, they ordered the motorcycle-for-hire driver to stop, but instead of heeding, Pepito sped off, prompting the police to go after him.
A brief chase ensued and the police later cornered the suspect in Barangay Labangon.
Suspicious of the suspect’s actuations, Suelto subjected the suspect to a body frisk and consequently found two aluminum strips of tin foil, a disposable lighter, and an empty sachet of suspected shabu.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges.
Furthermore, Hector Arcenal of the Cebu City Traffic Office said that the suspect will face a fine of P500 for crossing a solid line and another P500 for disregarding traffic officer. (FREEMAN)
