Zafra asks fellow captains to stay with Team Rama
CEBU, Philippines - The president of the Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) in Cebu City is asking his fellow barangay captains to stick it out with the Team Rama despite Mayor Michael Rama’s defeat to Tomas Osmeña in the last elections.

Zafra identified their allies as Felicisimo Rupinta (Ermita), Elvis Narra (Adlaon), Noli Alcover (Agsungot), Joventino Ardaba (San Jose), Joel Garganera (Tinago), Evelyn Letigio (Zapatera), Wilson Bacor (Binaliw), Reynald Lauron (Cambinocot), Trifonio Lequigan Jr. (Camputhaw), Amelo Lopez (Busay), Ramil Ayuman (Apas), Raquel Avila (Kamagayan), Jovito Taborada Jr. (Lahug), Armando Ermac (Lusaran), Rian Tante (Luz), Leonilo Bontilao (Pit-os), Lidiore Miranda (San Roque), Alan Masecampo ( San Antonio), Eloise Marie Lim (Sta. Zafra, however, is optimistic that these barangay captains will remain part of Team Rama and will not defect to Bando Osmeña Pundok Kauswagan (BOPK). Most of them, however, used to be BOPK allies but bolted to Team Rama after Osmeña’s defeat to Rama in 2013.
“Well, amo gyud ni’ng ikalipay nga magpabilin sila pero dili sad mi mamugos. Kung para nila mao ni makaayo para sa ilang barangay or unsa ilang desisyon but as I said at the end of the day atong respetoan ang tagsa-tagsa nila ka desisyon sama ra sad ani nga sa isyu sa sakyanan,” Zafra said.
Zafra is leading over 30 barangay captains who refused to honor the order issued by acting Mayor Margarita Osmeña for them to return all City Hall-issued vehicles for inventory.
He, however, clarified that Team Rama will not prevent the other barangay captains from leaving to join the other camp.—(FREEMAN)
