LTO-7 asks for time to vacate building
CEBU, Philippines - Land Transportation Office Region-7 is asking the Cebu City government for an extension of time to use its building while waiting for the budget from the Department of Transportation and Communication to build a new office.
LTO-7 director Arnel Tancinco said he already made the request to acting mayor Margarita "Margot" Osmeña.
He explained that the LTO does not want to stay in its current building and that they have to wait for relocation before they could transfer and allow the city government to use it as extension for the Cebu City Medical Center.
"No we want to transfer, dili mi interasado nga magpabilin kay we still want to transfer nangayo lang mi'g oras then wala pay budget, nangayo pa mi sa DOTC," Tancinco said.
Suspended Mayor Michael Rama earlier asked the LTO-7 to vacate its building because the city hospital will use it. Tancinco said they received the second letter to vacate in March.
"Prior sa election, I think March, we received the second letter to vacate from Mayor Rama. But I believe before April or March naka-receive nasad mi'g notice from DOTC," he said.
Tancinco is hoping that the incoming administration will prioritize its concern.
"Yeah, the only thing I ask ni Maam Margot is that, I know dili niya ma-tackle officially because OIC raman siya for one month, di ba? kung molingkod ang incoming mayor kung pwede ma-discuss, naay priority gamay ba," he said.
Tancinco, however, could not give specifics on the new LTO office until there is already a budget. —(FREEMAN)
