Suspect killed by cops: Jilted lesbian kills GF’s ma, brother

CEBU, Philippines - A lesbian was shot dead by the police in Calape, Bohol after she reportedly killed her girlfriend’s mother and brother and injured her lover’s other brother Wednesday evening because of jealousy.

The suspect was identified as Maricel Ramos, 39, of Barangay Liboron, Calape. The victims were Rosita Cuario, 74, and her sons Joel and Vicente.

Ramos was allegedly jealous of her girlfriend, Police Officer 1 Rosalie Cuario, whom she suspected of having an affair with a man.

Superintendent Ricky Delilis said that based on their initial investigation, Ramos went to the house of the victims in Purok 1, Barangay Ulbujan, Calape past 6 p.m. Wednesday to look for her girlfriend.

Ramos allegedly met Vicente outside the house and asked him the whereabouts of her girlfriend. Ramos allegedly got mad when Vicente told her that he did not know where his sister was.

The suspect then started shooting Vicente, hitting him in the right hand and right chest. Ramos then went inside the house and shot Rosita and Joel in the head.

Rosita and Joel died on the spot while Vicente was rushed to Vicente Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City.

“Nagsimula sa selos, allegedly ang isang police na si Rosalie Cuario, ito ang na-augment sa IEC, parang nagkaroon ng misunderstanding, pumunta si Maricel Ramos sa bahay nila,” Delilis said.

After shooting the victims, Ramos went home to Barangay Liboron where the responding policemen caught up with her. Delilis said they negotiated for her surrender but the suspect allegedly fired at them, prompting the lawmen to return fire, resulting in her death.

The gun used by the suspect was allegedly gi-ven by her girlfriend, which the latter won in the contest at the Bohol Provincial Police Office.

“Ang baril, ang glock 17 na ginamit ni Maricel Ramos, ito po ay napanalunan ni Cuario sa isang event sa BPPO, since they have intimate relationship binigay ang baril,” Delilis said.

Delilis said further investigation is being conducted to determine what prompted the suspect to kill the family of her girlfriend for 11 years.  (FREEMAN)
