Pa stabs drunk son who went amok

CEBU, Philippines - A 34-year-old man was stabbed by his own father after the former allegedly went amok and hit both his parents past 4 p.m. yesterday afternoon in Barangay Tinubdan, Malapascua Island, Daanbantayan town. 

Jason Arriesgado is in critical condition while his father, Jose Dian, 50, was arrested by Police Officer 3 Mac Arthur Monsanto.

Police investigation revealed that Jason, who was drunk, went home and suddenly went amok. His mother, Hermisa, tried to pacify him but Jason punched her.

Jason’s father, who was just nearby, was surprised to see what his son did and also tried to stop Jason. However, Jason reportedly would not listen to his father and instead punched Jose in the left eye.

Because his son could not be stopped, Jose took a knife and stabbed his son several times.

PO3 Monsanto responded to the alarm and arrested Jose while Jason was rushed to the Daanbantayan District Hospital. He was later brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for further treatment.

Jose is still detained at the Daanbantayan Police Station and will only be released if his son will not file a case against him.  (FREEMAN)
