CEBU, Philippines – Three persons, including an 8-year-old boy, were injured after they figured in an accident past 6 p.m. Friday in Barangay Cogon, Dumanjug town.

Lemil Sanchez, was driving his motorcycle with his son, Renil, when they collided with another motorcycle driven by Jamewell Asentista, 26.

Police Officer 1 Lorenel Labasa, desk officer of Dumanjug Police Station, said that Sanchez was driving his motorcycle heading towards the north while Asentista was traveling on the opposite lane.

Lemil reportedly tried to overtake a car but miscalculated his move and instead hit Asentista's motorcycle.

Both motorcycles collided head on which caused all three passengers to fall off from their vehicles. Residents living nearby called for police and medical assistance.

Police responders and municipal ambulance personnel arrived and brought the three to the Barili District Hospital.

Labasa said they are waiting for both parties to come to the station to file their complaints.

Meanwhile, a couple on board a motorcycle was brought to the hospital after they figured in an accident Friday afternoon in Barangay Talisay, Santander town.

Leolie Cabusog and his wife, Mary Joy, were brought to the Negros Oriental Provincial Hospital for treatment.

SPO3 Manuel Regulacion, desk officer of Santander Police Station, said that the couple fell on the road after Leolie, who was driving the motorcycle, fell asleep.

The Cabusogs were supposed to travel to Barangay Bato, Samboan town from Lapu-Lapu City where they live.

The desk officer said that both of them are already in a stable condition. —/ATO  (FREEMAN)
