2 siblings nabbed for ‘selling’ shabu
CEBU, Philippines - Two siblings were arrested Sunday morning during a buy-bust operation in Tuburan town.
The suspects were identified as Jose Naingue, 39, and his brother, Wilfredo, 35. Members of the Tuburan Police Station led by Inspector William Homoc conducted the buy-bust operation in Barangay 7 following reports of illegal drug activities involving the suspects.
The police also applied for search warrant against the suspects after two test buys were made prior to the operation last Sunday. The police were granted search warrant by Judge Hermes Montero of the Regional Trial Court Branch 59 in Toledo City.
An undercover policeman bought a pack of shabu from Wilfredo but his brother came out from the house to hand in the illegal drugs to the police decoy.
The police recovered the P300 buy-bust money, 17 small packs of suspected shabu including the subject of the operation, 26 medium packs of suspected shabu, two mobile phones, a motorcycle, and P4,600 cash.
Homoc estimated the value of confiscated drugs to be worth P76,700.
“Duna nay mga report nga dugay nang nagduwa and duha, ang usa nila ka igsoon nadakpan namo sa Barangay 8, napusilan sa bukton,” he said.
The suspects were brought to the police station and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (FREEMAN)
