Court charges man for trying to rape mother
CEBU, Philippines - The prosecutor’s office has indicted a 23-year-old man before the court for allegedly attempting to rape his mother.
Prosecutor III Rhodna Bacatan held the accused for trial for attempted rape.
“…with deliberate intent by means of force and violence and without the consent and against the will of his mother, did then and there attempt to have carnal knowledge,” the Information read.
Bacatan recommended P120,000 bail for the accused temporary liberty.
The FREEMAN is withholding the names of the parties due to the sensitive nature of the case.
In her sworn statement, a 64-year-old woman, a resident of Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, alleged that her youngest son attempted to rape her on October 18 at around 8 p.m. while she was in her room.
She said while she was sleeping together with her grandchild, her son entered while drinking a bottle of beer and suddenly removed his boxer shorts.
The complainant said she went downstairs but her son chased her and told her to go upstairs but she resisted and went out of their house.
“I was so ashamed because my naked son chased me and many people saw what happened...our neighbor got me and kept me upstairs,” she said, adding her son shouted and threatened her if she will not go back to their house he will kill her grandchild who was sleeping.
The complainant said she wants her son to be put in jail. Aside from being a drunkard, she alleged that her son is also addicted to illegal drugs. (FREEMAN)
