CEBU, Philippines – A suspected drug pusher was arrested by the police during a buy-bust operation at past 6 p.m. in Barangay Tan-awn, Oslob last Saturday.

Dennis Bacol, 40, a native of Cagayan de Oro, was placed under arrest after he sold a pack of suspected shabu to a poseur-buyer.

PO3 Miguel Castañares, desk officer of the Oslob Police, said the suspect has been in the list of drug personalities of the Oslob Police.

The station coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7 for a buy bust operation after it received reports of Bacol’s involvement in the illegal drug trade.

After getting a go signal from PDEA7, Senior Insp. Lucerna and two police operatives went to Sitio Cancua-ay, Barangay Tan-awn, and negotiated with the suspect for a pack of shabu worth P200.

As soon as the suspect handed over the pack to the poseur-buyer, the latter grabbed the suspect’s hand and arrested him.

The police also found five other small packs of suspected shabu from Bacol after frisking him, as well as the buy-bust money used in the operation.

Bacol was brought to the police station and will be charged for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Meanwhile, the Regional Public Safety Battalion 7 personnel who were manning a checkpoint in Barangay Uling in Naga City last Saturday afternoon arrested a man for possession of illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia at past 3 p.m. on Saturday.

The group headed by Insp. Efren Diaz flagged down a motorcycle driven by Robert Jimenez, 23, and confiscated from the latter three small packs of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

The suspect was brought to the regional headquarters of RPSB7 in Bahay, Sibonga for the filing of charges. —/JMO (FREEMAN)
