Two foreigners face raps for sexual offenses

CEBU, Philippines – Charges will be filed today against two foreigners who allegedly committing sex-related offenses in Cebu last week.

The first incident happened in Lapu-Lapu City after a 49-year-old South Korean (name withheld) allegedly raped a 17-year-old girl inside a resort in Barangay Maribago Friday night.

Police Officer 1 Marlou Britania, Lapu-Lapu City Police Office Station 2 desk officer, told The FREEMAN that the girl complained at the police headquarters that the foreigner raped her in his room.

The girl, Britania said, comes from Novaliches, Quezon City and is staying at a hotel in Barangay Mactan for a visit.

The South Korean, on the other hand, is vacationing in Cebu and is staying in a room of a beach resort in Maribago.

Britania said that the girl alleged that she, the suspect, and their common friends were drinking in the resort when he asked her to follow him in his room because he will give her a gift.

Lured, the victim went with the suspect to his room where he raped her instead of getting a gift.

The victim claimed that because she was so drunk when she got molested she managed to report what happened only on the following day.

After receiving the complaint, Inspector Rogelio Amoroso Jr. immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation and arrested the South Korean in his rented room at the beach resort.

Britania said the girl is currently under the care of their Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk in-charge, who brought her to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center’s Pink Room for medical examination.

Britania said a charge of rape in relation to child abuse was being prepared yesterday.

Meanwhile, in Cebu City, a 24-year-old Czech national and one Samuel Saliro, 26, are currently detained at Fuente Police Station after two security  guards  of  Mango Square mall saw them having oral sex at the establishment’s parking lot past 4 a.m. yesterday.

Saliro admitted to The FREEMAN the offense but the foreigner vehemently denied it.   Saliro said he was at a club with his friends when the foreigner caught his attention. He said that when he saw him leave he followed him to the parking lot.

Saliro said that while he was performing fellatio on the foreigner, two security guards came and arrested them.

“Nagkaila na mi daan sa imnanan, paggawas niya abi nako naa siyay sakyanan nisunod ko….  Nagbarog ra mi sa hawanan sa parking lot mao na to nasakpan mi,” he said.

The foreigner, though, said he did not remember what happened and denied that Saliro performed oral sex on him; he admitted, though, that Saliro was touching him while they were inside the club.

“No she (Saliro) was not blowing me. I deny it, she was touching me…she had her intention,” the foreigner said. He said he had just arrived in Cebu that night and went straight to the club.

His plan was supposedly to just stay a day in Cebu then fly to Norway and then to China.  After what happned at the parking lot, both he and Saliro ended up sharing a prison cell at while waiting for the filing of a grave scandal complaint against them. — /RHM (FREEMAN)
