CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Prosecutor’s Office has indicted a suspected drug pusher in Sitio San Roque, Barangay Lahug.

Prosecutor Jennifer Karen Alo-Leyson recommended no bail for Roy Yaun, who was arrested during a buy-bust operation on August 1.

The prosecutor’s office elevated the case for violation of Sections 5 and 11 of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act 2002 for trial before the Regional Trial Court.

Yaun was apprehended by the elements of the City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (CAIDSOTG) after he allegedly sold a pack of shabu to an undercover policeman.

The police subjected Yaun under surveillance for two weeks after receiving report that he was engaged into selling of illegal drugs which was rampant in the area.

The police confiscated two medium packs of shabu, seven small packs of shabu, P200 buy-bust money, and P900 cash. All the illegal drugs seized from Yaun weighed a total of 18.12 grams.

During the inquest proceedings before Leyson, Yaun waived his right to undergo preliminary investigation and opted to face the criminal charges directly in court.  (FREEMAN)
