Two arrested for robbery
CEBU, Philippines - Two men were arrested by Alegria police in Barangay Madridejos, Alegria, after they allegedly robbed a gasoline station yesterday afternoon in Malabuyoc.
Adelaido Inanoria Jr. and Marvin Canilada, both of Carcar City, were arrested in a hot pursuit operation after Malabuyoc Police Officers tipped the neighboring police station of the colors of their shirts.
Senior Police Officer3 Mario Paler, team leader of Malabuyoc Police Station, said past 1 p.m. yesterday Inanoria and Canilada, riding on a motorcycle, arrived at a gasoline station owned by Barangay Captain Lito Crios III.
Inanoria and Canilada allgedly pointed a gun at the pump attendant and declared hold-up. After taking the P7,780 in earnings they fled, heading towards Algeria.
After a report was given to the police they immediately notified Malabuyoc Police station. Police Officer 2 Jupiter Elargosa, desk officer of Alegria Police Station, said they immediately conducted a roadblock.
Past 2 p.m. yesterday they sighted the two suspects in Barangay Madridejos, and arrested them.
The police recovered a .357 cal. revolver, P2,410 cash and the motorcycle used by the suspects. Elargosa said that the suspects did not resist when they were arrested and surrendered peacefully.
After the suspects were arrested by the Alegria police they notified Malabuyoc policemen who came over to Alegria to take the suspects. Elargosa said they will be detained in the Malabuyoc Police station and will be charged with robbery. —BRP (FREEMAN)
