4 nabbed for drugs, guns
CEBU, Philippines - Four persons were arrested Saturday in separate anti-drug operations resulting in the confiscation of over P100,000 worth of illegal drugs and two firearms.
Suspected drug pusher Harlie Gastador, 43, and his live-in partner, Loida Laya-og, were arrested during a buy-bust operation in Sitio Bandilaan, Barangay Bagay, Daanbantayan.
Operatives of the Daanbantayan Police Station led by Chief Inspector Randy Naval confiscated several packs of shabu worth P120,100 and P1,855 cash from the suspects.
The police also recovered drug paraphernalia and money remittance receipts inside the suspects’ residence. The suspects are now detained at the Daanbantayan Police Station.
Charges for violation of Sections 5, 11, and 12 of the Conprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act will be filed today against the couple.
In other operations, Roderick Lucero, 39, and Globert Yosores, 28, were arrested in Balamban and Dalaguete, respectively.
Lucero was caught in the act of selling a pack of shabu to a police decoy in Barangay Nangka, Balamban at 3 p.m. last Saturday. The police also seized a caliber .45 pistol from the suspect.
Yosores, on the other hand, was arrested in Barangay Poblacion, Dalaguete for illegal possession of firearm.
The police responded to a call at 3 p.m. Saturday about the presence of an armed man. Found in Yosores’ possession was an unlicensed caliber .38 revolver. (FREEMAN)
