Rains, cloudy skies until Tuesday
CEBU, Philippines - Rain and cloudy skies can be expected in the Visayas until Tuesday, December 30, because of a Low Pressure Area.
Oscar Tabada, head of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration in the Visayas, said the LPA was spotted yesterday at least 600 kilometers off Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is reportedly enhanced by the northeast monsoon and the cold front.
“From Sunday (December 28) until Tuesday (December 30), Cebu will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers then heavy rainsin the afternoon,” Tabada said.
The LPA, Tabada continued, will most likely hit landmass today (Sunday) but is expected to dissepate before it could even develop into a major weather disturbance.
The good news is, “there is less chance that it will intensify into a tropical cyclone. But it will still be windy and rainy though,” he said.
With this, typhoon Ruby shall have been the last tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility. (FREEMAN)
