CEBU, Philippines - Five suspected drug pushers were arrested in separate buy-bust operations conducted by the police in Moalboal and the cities of Bogo and Lapu-Lapu.

The suspects are Glenn Montecillo, 40, of Barangay Taytayan, Bogo City; Joseph Pableo, 21, of Barangay Tunga, Moalboal; Junrel Castillo, of Candabong, Alcantara; Joel Baguio, 35, and his live-in partner Daisy Atillo, 39, both residents of Purok Kawayan, Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

Montecillo was arrested yesterday afternoon after he sold a pack of shabu worth P200 to an undercover policeman.

Senior Inspector Ildefonso Miranda Jr., deputy chief of the Bogo City Police Station, led the buy-bust operation.

The suspect is now detained at the Bogo City Police Station while charges are being prepared against him.

Pableo and Castillo, on the other hand, were arrested in a separate buy-bust operation in Moalboal yesterday afternoon.

Inspector Edgar Labe, Moalboal police chief, said Joel Castillo was supposed to be the subject of the buy-bust operation but the latter eluded arrest.

His brother, Junrel and Pableo were left inside the house where the transaction took place.

A poseur-buyer negotiated to buy a pack of shabu worth P500 from Joel.

The police recovered caliber .38 revolver and seven plastic packs of shabu from Junrel.

Baguio and Atillo were also arrested last Tuesday in Barangay Gun-ob, Lapu-Lapu City.

The police seized six small packs of shabu from the suspects.

Senior Inspector Wilbert Parilla, who led the operation said that Baguio and Atillo are on the list of target drug personalities in the city.— (FREEMAN)
