Brgy. Capitol Site to give cash aid to seniors, PWDs
CEBU, Philippines - Some 1,000 senior citizens and Persons with Disability in Barangay Capitol Site can look forward to additional incentives from their barangay.
Capitol Site Barangay Captain Manuel Guanzon said the Barangay Council has appropriated more than P1 million for the senior citizens and PWDs in the barangay.
The incentives will be distributed tomorrow morning at the barangay hall. Guanzon said there are 982 senior citizens and 125 PWDs in Capitol Site.
He said those seniors who are already 90-years-old and above will receive P5,000 while the rest will get P1,000 each, including the PWDs.
“Pinangga namo ang mga senior citizens ug PWD dinhi sa Capitol Site mao nga migahin ang barangay og cash assistance para nila,” Guanzon told The Freeman.
Guanzon said the barangay will be distributing cash incentives to their senior citizens and PWD starting this year.
Last week, the city government distributed P3,000 to each PWDs. There are more than 9,000 PWDs in Cebu City that are registered with the Department of Social Welfare and Services. (FREEMAN)
