Woman nabbed for ‘stealing’ P6T from Irish national
CEBU, Philippines - A 25-year-old woman was arrested for allegedly stealing money from an Irish national whom she reportedly slept with at a hotel in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City Thursday dawn.
Emily Javier, a native of Bayawan, Negros Oriental who temporarily stays at Jasmin Pension House in Cebu City, was apprehended by virtue of citizen’s arrest after victim Farry Ciaran, 28, reported her for theft.
Police investigation showed that Javier and Ciaran got acquainted with each other at a disco bar in Mango Square and agreed to sleep together at his room in Dynasty Tourist Inn at around 1 a.m.
After they reportedly had sexual intercourse, Ciaran went to the comfort room and suddenly noticed that his wallet, which he put on his lower left pocket, was missing. He reportedly had P6,000 in it.
Javier hurriedly grabbed her bag and was about to leave when she was stopped by Ciaran due to suspicion that he was robbed.
The victim called for police assistance and informed the management of the inn when Javier tried to escape.
When the police arrived in the place, Javier was subjected to a body search and was ordered to show what was inside her bag.
Senior Police Officer 1 Allan Vallejo of Fuente Police Station said they found P4,000 from Javier’s bag.
Javier, Vallejo said, claimed that it was her money, but the Irish national insisted that it was his.
The suspect is currently detained at Fuente Police Station while Ciaran is set to file a case against her today. (FREEMAN)
