CEBU, Philippines - A 52-year-old woman and her son, an alleged Level 2 drug pusher, were arrested in a buy-bust operation at their house in Barangay Don Andres Soriano, Toledo City last Monday afternoon.
Senior Insp. Armando Labora of the Provincial Intelligence Branch said the poseur buyer actually bought a pack of shabu from Christopher Olimba, 35, but it was his mother, Florencia, who handed the pack of shabu worth P300 to the poseur-buyer.
After the transaction was consummated, the cops swooped down on the suspects and arrested them.
Police recovered four large packs and a medium sized pack of suspected shabu weighing 21.9 grams worth P258,420 based on the Dangerous Drugs Board estimates.
Several drug paraphernalia, a pouch and the buy-bust money were also recovered from the suspects.
Labora said they placed Christopher who they knew first as “Topher” under surveillance for two weeks after they received a tip about his illegal activity. They were surprised to learn later that his mother is also into the trade.
“Wala mi nagtoo nga iya diay to’ng mama, abi namo og tawo lang ni Christopher, pag dinakopa’y na nahibaw-an namo nga iya diay nga inahan,” Labora said.
During custodial investigation, “Topher” told him that he got his supply from Cebu City.
The mother and son are detained at the Consolacion Police Station and are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. – (FREEMAN)
