Security guard shot dead

Bryner L. Diaz - The Philippine Star

CEBU, Philippines - A security guard died after he was shot in the head by still unidentified assailant Monday along Manalili Street, Barangay Ermita, Cebu City.

Janilon Sagaral, 34, of BISDA Security Agency, was declared dead on arrival at the Cebu City Medical Center.

Initial investigation revealed that the victim was in his post when the unidentified gunman arrived and shot him once without any provocation. Personnel from the Emergency Medical Services of Cebu City brought the victim to CCMC where he was pronounced dead.

Senior Police Officer 1 Artemio Tumakay III, of Carbon Police Station, believes that the gunman used a revolver because there was no empty shell found at the crime scene.

Homicide investigators are still facing blank wall on the motive of the killing. SPO4 Rey Cuyos, homicide investigator, said they will visit the family of the victim to do a background investigation to help them establish possible motive.— (FREEMAN)
