CEBU, Philippines - A body of a man was found in a creek in Barangay Lanas, Naga City early Thursday morning.

The man, who remains unidentified, had a wound at the back of his head, as well as in the different parts of his body.

Police Officer 1 Diosdado Namang of Naga City Police Station said it was Carpo Baruman, 51, who discovered the body while walking along the creek at 5 a.m. last Thursday.

Baruman immediately called for police assistance after seeing the body.

According to the police, the injuries found on the man's body might have caused his death.

Aside from the injuries, a tattoo was also found at the man's back marked "forever" with a heart design and another tattoo on his chest of a boy wearing a jersey.

A yellow scarf and P130 cash believed to be personal belongings of the victim were also recovered by the police.

The body was turned over to St. Francis Funeral Homes for an autopsy.

Investigation is now being conducted to identify the victim. — Xenia Maureen Arda, USJ-R MassComm Intern/NSA (FREEMAN)
