3 men shoot meat shop helper dead

CEBU, Philippines - A man died after he was shot several times by three men in Barangay Poblacion, Liloan town Friday dawn.

Roel Sasing, 39, a meat store helper, succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds.

According to Police Officer 3 Jesson Gayo, desk officer of Liloan Police Station, Sasing was at the meat shop doing his job when three unidentified men on a motorcycle arrived at the public market.

The three alighted from the motorcycle and still wearing their helmets, headed towards Sasing and started shooting at him several times, hitting him on the head and body.

After seeing the victim drop dead, the assailant boarded back on the motorcycle and fled towards an unknown direction.

The victim was brought to Cebu Provincial Hospital in Danao City but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physicians.

At least five empty shells of a cal. 45 pistol were recovered from the crime scene.

The body was brought to Maturan Funeral Homes for an autopsy.

Liloan Police Station will be conducting investigation to identify the assailants and determine the motive of the killing. —NSA (FREEMAN)
