Man files adultery charge; wife, brgy captain arrested
CEBU, Philippines - A barangay captain in Cordova, Cebu and a woman were arrested yesterday after the husband of the latter filed an adultery complaint against his wife.
The Cordova police separately served the arrest warrant against the two yesterday around 2 in the afternoon.
The warrant was issued by Municipal Circuit Trial Court - Consolacion-Cordova Judge Jocelyn Uy-Po on November 19.
Melchor Ompad, 55 and Mirachell Pinote, 38, were arrested by Police Officer 3 Noem Rosillosa and Police Officer 2 Vilma Degamo.
According to PO3 Rosillosa, the two, who are allegedly having an affair, were arrested separately. Ompad was inside a restaurant when the warrant was served while Pinote was arrested in her own store.
Both were released though after they posted a bail of P12,000 each before the Municipal Circuit Trial Court of Consolacion and Cordova, said Rosillosa.
Ompad, who is in his last term as barangay captain, denied the accusation that he has a relationship with Pinote. — Christell Fatima M. Tudtud/ATO (FREEMAN)
