No bail for man accused of rape
CEBU, Philippines - The Cebu City Prosecutor's Office has recommended no bail for a 34-year old man accused of sexually abusing a 7-year-old schoolgirl.
Prosecutor Rodulph Joseph Val Carillo has found probable cause to hold Misael Zafra, of A. Lopez, Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, for trial in court on charges of rape.
Zafra allegedly used force and intimidation to advance his bestial desire on the child. The victim said she was playing with her friend outside the latter's house on October 24, 2014 at about 12 noon.
The accused suddenly arrived and carried her to his house near the place where she was playing. While inside the house, the victim said she was sexually abused by Zafra. The girl said she was threatened not to make any noise.
The victim said the accused gave her P15 after what he did to her. The girl also gave the money to her friend. The victim told her grandmother about what Zafra did to her. The grandmother immediately reported the incident to the police. — (FREEMAN)
