Cebu City Hall worker sacked
CEBU, Philippines - A regular employee of the Cebu City Hall was terminated after reportedly posting her nude photos in a social networking site.
Based on the dismissal order signed by Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama, a female administrative aide of the Department of Public Services was relinquished from her job due to “repeated gross immorality and dereliction of duties.” She was officially terminated from the office on October 17.
“Respondent is hereby recommended to be terminated effective immediately upon approval hereof, with a prohibition against any reappointment in the City Government of Cebu,” stated on the decision of the Office of the Resident Ombudsman-Cebu City.
City Administrator Lucelle Mercado said that the said employee posted nude pictures online early this year.
Meanwhile, Rama also signed the promotion papers for two Cebu City Medical Center employees.
Dr. Anton Oliver Reposar, the former medical specialist of CCMC, is now the CCMC officer-in-charge for assistant chief of hospital for professional service.
“(He) shall exercise technical supervision over the medical, ancillary and nursing staff and other facilities of the hospital,” stated on the memorandum signed by Rama.
With this, Reposar would be receiving all the benefits and privileges available to a regular assistant department head such as representation and travelling allowance.
Also, lawyer Rey Cris Panugaling, a former administrative officer of CCMC, is now the CCMC officer-in-charge for assistant chief of hospital for administrative service.
Based on the memorandum, he would be supervising all personnel as far as administrative functions are concerned.
Both have started with their new functions last October 1. (FREEMAN)
