Grace Melanie L. Lacamiento - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - A 73-year-old spinster was found dead inside her house in Sitio Linas, Barangay Caleriohan, Dalaguete, Cebu Wednesday afternoon.

Natividad Amacna, a farmer, was discovered by her grandson lying lifeless with her legs reportedly apart and without her underwear on. Police Officer 3 Rodrigo Teo of Dalaguete Police Station said that they could not yet conclude if the victim was raped since they are still waiting for the autopsy report.

But blood stains were allegedly found on the private part of the victim.

Police investigation revealed that Amacna’s grandson was supposed to deliver money to his grandmother but the house of the victim was locked.

He reportedly went to the kitchen at the back of the house but also found the door locked. When the grandson smelled a foul odor, he then decided to peek through a window located in the kitchen. There he saw the dead body of his grandmother.

The grandson immediately asked assistance from the neighbors who helped him open Amacna’s house. Teo said that Amacna was believed to have already been dead for two days.

Based on the testimonies of her neighbors, the victim was last seen alive on Monday evening when she was fetching water. Amacna was described to be an active woman despite of her age. Her relatives claimed that she was not suffering from any illness.

The younger sibling of Amacna reported the incident to the police at 3 p.m., but Teo and his team was not able to see the actual position of the victim since she was already moved to change her clothes.   The cadaver of the victim was brought to St. William Funeral Homes for autopsy. — (FREEMAN)
