CEBU, Philippines - A man was shot dead by unidentified suspects in Sitio Lawas, Barangay Kandingan in the southern town of Aloguinsan last Sunday.

At about 1:22 a.m. yesterday, Councilman Richard Bontigao of Barangay Kandingan reported the shooting incident to the Aloguinsan Police Station through his cellular phone.

Mario Lopez Tante, 37, resident of Barangay Kandingan, together with his three companions, arrived at the videoke store owned by his neighbor at around 10:30 p.m.

While the three companions were preparing to set up the videoke, Tante reportedly sat down on a motorcycle parked from a distance when suddenly he was rained with bullets.

Tante was hit in his right upper limb, abdomen, left ear and left side of his nose causing his death.

Initial investigation revealed that the unidentified suspects sneaked through a dark corner near the victim and fled away after the incident.
